MINDANAO, PHILIPPINES — In a landmark gathering for the Church in Mindanao, the Cybermission 3.0 program provided a transformative highlight to the recent Padayon – One CABUSTAMPRO regional assembly. The event, which serves as the localized expression of the annual Philippine Conference of New Evangelization (PCNE), brought together 65 delegates representing the diverse ministries and generations of the region.
The assembly demonstrated the unity of “One CABUSTAMPRO,” with representatives from the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro and the Dioceses of Butuan, Surigao, Tandag, Malaybalay, and Prosperidad. Amidst the communal spirit of Padayon (Moving Forward), the session challenged participants to move beyond being passive consumers of technology to becoming prophetic stewards of the digital frontier.

A Framework Rooted in Faith and Culture
At the heart of the session was the unveiling of the Cybermission 3.0 framework, which bridges Catholic Social Teaching (CST) with deeply rooted Filipino values. The framework presents four essential pillars for the modern Cybermissionary:
- Human Dignity (Pagpapakatao): Upholding the transcendent value of the person over the data-driven “Technocratic Paradigm.”
- Authentic Community (Pakikipagkapwa): Utilizing AI as a bridge to foster true encounter and solidarity in an era of digital isolation.
- Digital Justice (Pagkakapantay-pantay): Ensuring that the benefits of the cognitive revolution are accessible to the peripheries and the marginalized.
- Common Good (Malasakit): Harnessing technology as a tool for advocacy and the protection of our shared social and environmental home.
The 10 Commandments of Prompting
A pivotal moment of the workshop occurred when Pie Mabanta-Fenomeno, President of SIGNIS Philippines, presented her specialized version of the “10 Commandments of Prompting.” Mabanta-Fenomeno emphasized that in the world of Artificial Intelligence, the human is the “Manager of Intent.”
By treating AI as a well-read assistant rather than a magic button, delegates experienced what it means to prompt like a project manager. They learned to feed the machine with “Source Truths”—including local context and specific Church documents—to produce outputs that resonate with the Mindanaoan soul.

The Digital Harvest: From Theory to Creation
The engagement culminated in a “Digital Lab” where theory was put into immediate, collaborative practice. The delegates successfully produced an original song using AI musical synthesis and created a “storified” digital image of the day’s Gospel—Jesus walking on the water—reimagined through a prophetic lens.
Participants practiced the “Prophetic Check,” presenting their prompts for feedback to ensure their vision was rooted in the Gospel before generating content. This hands-on experience proved that AI, when managed with intent, can amplify the grit and beauty of pastoral work.
Moving Forward: A Ministry-Centered Mission
Cybermission 3.0 will continue to engage with different dioceses across the country, fostering a new generation of digital stewards. The program is specifically designed to empower the work of the Catechetical, Social Action, Ecological, Family and Life, Youth, and Social Communication ministries.
As the “Padayon” spirit suggests, the journey continues. Through this program, the Church in Mindanao is ensuring that in the age of algorithms, the Gospel remains the ultimate source of truth and a catalyst for authentic human encounter.

Cybermission 3.0 is a signature program of SIGNIS Philippines aimed at empowering the Church for the digital age.
