Indore, Madhya Pradesh, July 27, 2026: In an era where digital communication is shaping public opinion and driving social transformation, a Wisdom Calls seminar was organized by Sr. Ganga Rawat SSpS (a participant of the previously held ‘SIGNIS Wisdom Calls – Sharing the Mission of Religious Sisters to the World’ at Bangkok, Thailand in May 2026), on the theme “Mission Meets Mainstream Media” for Catholic Religious Sisters. The programme brought together 35 young and enthusiastic sisters from various religious congregations, equipping them to become effective communicators of the Gospel and advocates for justice in today’s media-driven world.

The seminar began with a warm welcome and an introduction to the theme by Sr. Ganga Rawat, SSpS, who emphasized the need for consecrated women to engage confidently with mainstream and digital media as instruments of mission and social change.

Mr. Sumit Dhanraj, the Vice-President of SIGNIS India and Media Trainer took a session on the importance of “Digital Media and Christian Communication” for the young sisters. He highlighted the role of communicating stories of hope and trust in our times by preserving human voices and faces. He shared the significance of sharing positive stories to the world by means of modern media. He also spoke about the platforms and AI tools available to do the communication tasks easily and quickly in the contemporary world.

Reflecting on the day’s learning, Crescencia Sawen of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Garden (OLG) shared: “I became aware that my voice can be heard through the digital world. Problems and obstacles are part of life; therefore, we should never give up what gives life and meaning to our global mission.”

Another participant, Sujata Beck of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Saint Marc (SJSM), expressed her gratitude, saying: “I am deeply grateful to Wisdom Call for this opportunity to broaden my understanding of God’s mission. Together with my congregation, we can become a voice for the voiceless through our kind and generous service.”

The seminar concluded with renewed enthusiasm and a shared commitment among the participants to harness the power of mainstream and digital media in their ministries. Inspired by the day’s insights, the sisters left with a deeper conviction that authentic storytelling, responsible communication, and compassionate engagement can make the Church’s mission more visible and impactful in today’s interconnected world.
