Wisdom Calls – Sharing the Mission of Religious Sisters to the World
This special programme offers religious sisters from various congregations around the world an opportunity and a platform to share their mission and story to a larger and more secular audience. The programme will assist sisters in finding their voice and learning how to tell their story in a way that will be able to reach further, to touch more hearts in the current digital environment and to reach out to the new generations. The Programme will be held simultaneously across three continents in Asia, Africa and South America.
In Asia, SIGNIS will hold a 2-day workshop for Asia religious sisters which will feature expert storytellers as guest speakers, designed to benefit religious sisters who are looking for a platform to share their mission and story to the world.

About the Programme
The core of the initiative is to build support for religious women’s communication efforts in three continents (Africa, Asia, and Latin America), initially by gathering religious women and other Catholic communication professionals. These gatherings are designed not only to facilitate structured discussions around communication challenges, but also to encourage informal networking among participants. By creating both digital and physical spaces for dialogue and collaboration, the project hopes to build a bridge between religious sisters and Catholic media professionals.
Objectives of the Programme
- Build Communication Capacity and Networks together with and of religious sisters – connect religious sisters with Catholic communication professionals to enhance collaborative opportunities.
- Foster Collaboration – create sustainable networks between religious sisters and Catholic communication professionals.
- Document Best Practices – identify and share innovative, community-centered communication solutions with religious communities and SIGNIS members.
- Strengthen Global Dialogue – contribute insights to the SIGNIS World Congress (August 3-8, 2026) in Kigali, Rwanda.
- Empower Local Voices – ensure community-specific needs shape communication strategies and solutions.
Goal
To cultivate long-term, mutually supportive relationships between the sisters and professional Catholic communicators.
The project is to be presented at the SIGNIS World Congress 2026, offering global visibility and integration into broader Church communication efforts. Participants will receive the project’s successes and lessons learned, and be encouraged to create similar collaborations with religious sisters in their regions.
